Karamatura Stream Track

Date TBD

  • Karamatura Falls track

Service Description

Shinrin yoku, or forest bathing, is the intentional practice of mindful immersion in forests or nature, and has been shown to promote both psychological and physiological health. Among the health benefits of forest bathing are healthier blood pressure and pulse, reduction in stress hormones in the body, engagement of the parasympathetic nervous system, renewed focus, and a sense of tranquility. Benefit from forest bathing and nature photography on the Karamatura Falls track in the Waitakere ranges, Auckland. Put your phones on silent and use digital SLR cameras to see the world. We'll be walking for roughly 15 minutes to a spot by the river, where we'll do our activities. Some information about this track and Shinrin yoku: This is a lovely trail along a river. The trailhead is 45 min drive from Central Auckland. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/new-zealand/auckland/karamatura-falls The Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku, or forest bathing, is the simple and therapeutic act of spending time in a forest. https://www.japan.travel/en/guide/forest-bathing/
